Green Businesses in Vermont

Here's a recent opinion piece in the local paper about the importance of Green businesses in Vermont. I keep harping about how green the software industry is at VTSDA meetings and want to get the state to include us in all of their efforts around promoting green industry here. It's so good for Vermont. I will eventually get my message through! :-)

I dunno if I'd what you're selling Julia. I wonder how much power all our [hundreds of] servers and [scores of terabytes of] storage and AC use? You know, the ones that run the software we use and write and stores the data that provides the services we sell?

Seems a bit a wishful thinking to me.

I don't disagree. I have wondered about that part. But compared to the more common industry here - manufacturing - we are not polluting rivers or anything. It would be realy interesting to see some kind of study about that.
