One of the more exciting things in a developer's life is going to a conference, especially a really big one. Microsoft's TechEd U.S. conference is starting on Monday and I am lucky to be heading down to Florida today for the week to attend it. I'm going a little early because INETA is having a day long User Group Leader summit for the INETA NORAM (that's North American) user groups. I have been very involved with INETA since nearly its inception in early 2002, so this is always a really fun event - meeting up with lots of other user group leaders, many who have become friends, even if only virtually. My user group is Vermont.NET, in Burlington Vermont.
TechEd has sold out, which is no small feat, as the attendee roster is something like 10,000 or 11,000 people. Add to that the many Microsoft people who will be there and you have one BIG crowd. Orlando will be swarming with geeks, TechEd banners and buses magically engulfed in different Microsoft technology campaigns.
I will keep you posted. It's a hard time to leave Vermont. Summer has just arrived this week, after a long winter and a cold, wet spring. I'll miss watching the daily evolution of the lupin, rhodendrons and everything else growing around here. But just for a week, and they will likely be in full bloom when I return home.
