A blog for DevSource.com.

This blog was originally part of the blogs.ziffdavis.com site from May 2005 through June 2007 when the blog was moved to the Movable Type blog engine and hosted at blog.devsource.com/devlife.
The original blog was eventually shut down and I was given the posts so that I could host them on my own site.

A new toy to play with

There is nothing more fun than having a new project to work on and new things to learn. Yesterday I got involved with a project for my client where I am going to get to work with Sharepoint Windows Services for the first time. I have been a user of a Sharepoint Portal, but this is different. I was very excited to be able to suggest this based on the needs of a new application they were requesting. And for them, a nice benefit is the cost of the software: $0.  I am having fun struggling with installing it on my test server and luckily some real live IT Pros will be responsible for setting up the true webserver, haggling with ISA Server, etc. I definitely needed something brand spanking new to get me fired up this summer. The Sharepoint guru in my life, Amanda Murphy, is also excited that I am starting on this venture and discovering the beauty of having all of the boring work done for me already!
