I was at a party last night and someone asked me “so, have you got an Origami yet? Heh heh.”
Yes, even here in my little town of Huntington, I have a bit of a reputation as a local geek. But even looking ahead to the time when the Origamis are available, the 2.5 hour battery life has been brought up to a useful amount and the price is reasonable, I still don't see myself replacing my laptop with it. It's just the nature of my work. Remember, I have a dual 19” monitor display setup. I need screen real-estate to use Visual Studio. Nearly every trip I have taken in the past few years required that I have my TabletPC (aka my laptop) with me as I was presenting at user groups or conferences and needed to do some work while I was travelling. as well.
I have four devices that I travel with: a Tablet PC, a cell phone (which would be perfect if it was a SmartPhone), an iPod Nano and a Canon Elph.
When the auxiliary display becomes reality AND it is a smartphone then come talk to me! I'm talking about a smartphone embedded into the exterior of a TabletPC that I can use to “look inside“ of my computer, can use as a phone in place or by popping out of the tablet's body. But I'll still be keeping my iPod Nano.
