While I was on an airplane yesterday, lots happened in the Microsoft press! Luckily, I'm at DevConnections and we got all of the announcements over a few of the keynotes. After Scott Guthrie's keynote this morning, I now have this list of what is now released and what is coming...
RTM=Release to Manufacture
update: now we can say it: Vista too! Today 11/8.
- .NET 3.0 (Remember, this is the 4 new APIs bundled with .NET 2.0 - read more here and here.)
- Office 2007: RTM! Here's the press release.
- Sharepoint: Along with Office, it too is gold and will be available very soon. More details on all of the sharepoint releases from Andrew Connell and here's a press release.
- AJAX Beta 2 released yesterday.
Coming very soon:
- Expression Web Designer - before 2006 YE. (Parts of Expression WYSISYG designer will be integrated into Orcas)
- AJAX v 1.0 by the end of this year (their goal).
Also, fun to note is that VS2005 was RTM'd one year ago today.
