Will OneNote 2007 turn me into a OneNote fanatic?

Everyone that I know who uses OneNote is fanatical about it. TabletPC users are even moreso than those who are limited to keyboard & mouse. I'm mostly using the latter unless I'm travelling.

I have used it a little but never “got the religion“ so to speak. I don't know why. I'm constantly in desparate need of any means to help me become more organized. My favorite must-get-organized joke is that my copy of “Getting Things Done“ is still sitting on my shelf because I haven't found time to read it. I think the new placement of the “tasks“ in Outlook 2007 is going to help too. ALthough I have to clean up the 500+ things I have flagged as follow-up. I just opened up the oldest one and it is from 2001. (Luckily it's something I actually did a long long time ago.)

So I just installed the new version of OneNote. I took a look at the "what's new" article on-line and even patiently sat through the entire online demo video which was really impressive and informative. I even thought the Sharepoint integration was cool although I generally tend to run from sharepoint. (This makes my friends who are SP gurus happy, since I send plenty of work their way.) So we'll see  how it goes, and I will try to remember to do all of my notetaking in OneNote.

I think with the loss of WinFS in the upcoming release of Vista, a tool like OneNote will become even more important OneNote won't replace that functionality, but the ability to tie emails, docs, pdfs, audio, web pages and other types of info together in one place (and all searchable ... even the audio (that I have to test out!)), is awesome. Plus they make it easy with integration into IE7 and other Office products (examples below). Now why can't I get into the habit? Hmmmm....
